Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cranberry glass, created by fusing gold chloride into molten glass, achieved widespread popularity in Britain during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Jam dishes from this period frequently featured blown coloured glass liners paired with silver-plated stands for formal breakfast table presentation.

These pieces typically consist of a hand-blown or moulded glass liner set inside an electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or sterling silver frame. The metal stands were often stamped or engraved with decorative patterns and fitted with overhead swing handles.

Authentic items exhibit subtle variations in colour intensity due to hand-crafting and may show a pontil mark on the base of the glass. The metal components usually feature maker marks, registration numbers, or EPNS stamps on the underside or rim.

Position the item on a dining room sideboard or kitchen dresser as a decorative accent or functional preserve server. It can also be repurposed on a bedroom vanity table to store small items of jewellery.

Wash the glass liner by hand using warm water and gentle soap, avoiding sudden temperature changes that cause cracking. Clean the silver-plated stand using a soft cloth and specialized silver polish to clear tarnish without wearing down the plating.
