Early 19th Century Rocking Ship Longcase Clock

Description

An early 19th century nautical themed mahogany longcase clock . The case has a wavy pediment, reeded side columns and the original removable finials. The figured mahogany base has a fielded panelled door and base, with bracket feet. The 14 inch beautifully painted dial has embossed brass hands , subsidiary seconds dial , date window , shell corner paintings and within the arch is a diorama of a rocking galleon that swings in time with the pendulum. It has an 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell.
