Fine Victorian Davenport Porcelain Imari Moon Flask Vase C.1880

A stylish porcelain moon flask vase decorated in the oriental style in an imari palette of underglaze blue, iron red enamel and a cyan enamel to form the frogspawn type pattern over the shoulders, and rich gilding. Finely modelled gilded twin handles formed as pairs of entwined snakes with moulded scaled texture and twisted tails spreading across the vase. Red stamped mark c.1870-1885 and other hand painted marks.
 
It measures 17.2cm (6 3/4'') high, 15.2cm (6'') wide and 5cm (2'') deep.
 
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
