Edwardian mantel clocks are timepieces produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), typically featuring refined neoclassical or revivalist decorative motifs inspired by earlier periods such as the Sheraton style.

These clocks are generally constructed with a wooden carcassoften mahogany or satinwoodembellished with contrasting wood veneers, stringing, and delicate marquetry or floral garlands, paired with a white enamel dial and a brass bezel.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the joinery, the type of wood and veneer, the hand-painted or transferred numerals on the dial, the movement type, and natural signs of ageing on the brass and timber components.

It can be positioned as a focal point on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or console table, adding a layer of historical texture and warm timber tones to contemporary or transitional spaces.

Keep the clock away from direct sunlight, extreme temperature fluctuations, and moisture. The wooden case should be maintained with appropriate wax polish, and the mechanical movement should be periodically serviced by a professional horologist.
