Rams Head Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
This has a cast ormolu dial with inset porcelain enamelled Roman numeral cartouches. The movement is a twin barrelled Japy Freres which runs beautifully and keeps good time, striking a delicate tone on a bell on the hour and half hour.

This winds once a week and keeps good time.
The original key and sunburst cast ormolu pendulum are present and the movement is stamped Japy Freres to the backplate.
The clock has good proportions overall measuring 37 cms in height, 19 cms wide and 12 cms deep.
