Description

A late Victorian walnut cased 8 day bracket clock with 8 day ting-tang striking and brass and silvered dial c.1890. The solid walnut case with cushion top and wide moulded cornice below. Bevelled glass door to the face and broad moulded plinth to the base, plus bevelled edge glass to the view windows on the sides. Decorative gilt brass decoration to the case with matching finial to the top. Brass and silvered dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, complementing gilt brass spandrels to the corners of the dial. The 8 day German movement with anchor escapement and ting-tang striking to the quarters; fully serviced and working. A short video of the clock striking can be viewed on our YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/@sturmansantiques1428. Superb quality and condition with a rich colour and original patina to the case. Measures 11.5" wide x 7" deep x 19" high to top of finial.
