The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement, identified as by Revue, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company. It is in lovely condition, just one little indentation where the loop has pressed into the case.
The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover.

The dial is signed John Elkan Ltd, London, the original retailer of the watch. John Elkan was a retail jeweller who specialised in jewellery, gold and silver goods. It also has the name “Colonial”, a brand name given by John Elkan.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
