Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian scent bottles often feature intricate craftsmanship, combining precious metals such as sterling silver with richly coloured or deeply cut glass to reflect the ornate tastes of the late 19th century.

These items were typically crafted using hand-blown or cut glass bodies paired with hallmarked sterling silver collars, caps, and sometimes hinged lids fitted with glass inner stoppers.

Authenticity is verified by checking for clear silversmith hallmarks stamped on the metal mounts, hand-cut facets showing minor irregular variations, and period-appropriate wear consistent with age.

They can be displayed on decorative mirrored trays, open shelving, or dressing table surfaces to introduce a touch of historic craftsmanship and coloured glass refraction into modern spaces.

The glass can be gently cleaned with warm soapy water, avoiding harsh chemicals, while silver components should be carefully treated with specialised polish applied with a soft cloth to protect hallmarks.
