A small Derby spill vase of flared shape with steppe collet foot. Painted with a landscape scene of a country cottage with a church in the background and ornate gilt decoration to frame the scene and surrounding white ground and finished with gilt bands inside and outside the rim and around the foot. Red painted mark to the base and gilder number 17, c.1815.
It measures 11.3cm (4 7/16'') high and 7.9cm (3 1/8'') wide.
In very good condition with no damage or repair. A small nick in the glaze at the rim and minor handling wear, mainly just to the gilt on the lower band at the bottom of the body and to the extremities of the more delicate elements at the edge of the design around the back.
