Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Gent & Co Ltd, trading as Gents of Leicester, was established in 1872 and became a prominent British manufacturer of electric clocks, fire alarms, and public timekeeping systems widely used in railway stations and municipal buildings throughout the 20th century.

Station clocks were constructed using robust materials designed for public durability, featuring heavy steel or cast iron outer casings, glass face covers, and painted sheet metal dials with bold hands.

Authentic pieces feature the distinctive Gents of Leicester trademark logo printed on the dial face, high-grade heavy metal casing, original mounting feet or side brackets, and characteristic master-slave electric clock movements.

An industrial station clock serves as an architectural anchor when displayed on a wide sideboard, mantelpiece, or low media unit, pairing effectively with minimalist, loft, or contemporary design schemes.

Dust the metal casing regularly with a soft dry microfiber cloth, clean the glass pane with a non-abrasive glass cleaner, and ensure any electrical movement conversions are conducted by a qualified horologist.
