This is a Georgian, muti spiral air twist wine goblet dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1750.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 270 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a large rounded funnel-shaped bowl measuring 9.7 cm (3.9 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a multi spiral air twist stem and a conical foot which also measures 9.7 cm (3.9 inches) in diameter. The glass is an impressive 21.5 cm (8.6 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. There is a tiny inclusion in the metal of the bowl dating from manufacture. There is a long bubble near the edge of the foot which has burst leaving a scar on the underside of the foot.
English lead glass weighing in at 360 g. (~ 13 oz.).
