A very fine quality, carved mahogany Biedermeier Viennese Regulator wall clock, dating circa 1850, handmade in Vienna by the master clockmaker, Anton Mayer.
 
The beautifully proportioned case with exceptional carved work throughout, the shaped glazed door and sides split into six glazed sections.
 
The side panels having beautifully figured flame mahogany with boxwood strung edging to the shaped glazing.
 
The case interior veneered with figured flame mahogany with shaped recessed panels with boxwood stringing.
 
The moulded and shaped base terminating with a high quality carved decoration.
 
The one piece enamelled dial with Roman numeral cartouche chapter ring, surrounded by an ornate gilded cast brass bezel.
 
The fully restored, 8 day duration, Grande Sonnerie three train movement of the highest quality striking on two blued steel curled gongs, with maintaining power and deadbeat escapement, strike silent facility.
 
The movement mounted onto excellent quality carved brackets, matching the case door.
 
Three polished brass cased weights, with spoked pulleys, gilded brass ornate pendulum with polished steel rod.

The clock is in fine original condition with the movement fully restored.
 
This type of Viennese regulator wall clock were entirely hand made by a time served master clockmaker and were only made for the most discerning customers and took many months to complete individually.
