An 8-day triple fusee striking movement consisting of six pillars, with the original verge escapement striking the hours to a bell and the quarters to a nest of eight bells. There is also a repeating function. The back plate is beautifully engraved with foliate scrolls and floral swags and is also signed ''Daniel De St Leu Watchmaker to Her Majesty London''.
The resplendent arched red tortoiseshell case is applied with ormolu flower trellis fretwork and surmounted by an urn finial. The four out-set angles of the case with arches between are surmounted by further finials above tortoiseshell mouldings supported on elaborate gilt foliate volutes. The sides have pierced and engraved sound frets above the bombe-shaped base with volute feet to the corners.
The 6'' engraved brass break arch dial features Turkish numerals with a calendar aperture. The two subsidiary dials set within the break arch offering Chime/Not Chime and another for regulation, with a silvered and engraved cartouche to the centre ''Dan De St Leu Watchmaker to her majesty London'', and finished with the original finely blued steel hands.
