Art Deco design, prominent in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric shapes, stylised motifs, streamlined forms, and the use of modern industrial materials like chrome, bakelite, and coloured plate glass.

These timepieces typically featured heavy bevelled or coloured plate glass panels, cast brass or chromium-plated fittings, and early electric synchronous movements housed within custom-machined metal chassis.

Authentic pieces usually feature makers marks on the dial or movement backplate, period-correct wiring methods, heavy quality glass with genuine ageing, and traditional mechanical construction rather than modern plastic reproductions.

Place the clock on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or open bookshelf where light can pass through the coloured glass, pairing it with metallic accents, dark wood furniture, and minimalist accessories to highlight its geometric lines.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical cleaners on the glass or metal surfaces, and have vintage electric movements professionally inspected for electrical safety before operation.
