Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Invented in France during the early nineteenth century, carriage clocks were designed as sturdy, portable timepieces for travellers, often featuring heavy brass cases, glass panels, and repeating mechanisms that sounded the nearest hour on demand.

Traditional carriage clocks were constructed using solid cast or milled brass, often gilt or hand-engraved, with bevelled glass panels, enamel dials, and precision mechanical spring-driven movements fitted with platform escapements.

Authentic nineteenth-century French carriage clocks generally display maker stamps or serial numbers on the backplate, fine hand-engraved dial masks, high-quality platform lever escapements, and substantial weight due to solid brass casing.

A brass carriage clock can be positioned on a fireplace mantelpiece, executive office desk, or styled shelf alongside leather-bound books and understated metallic accessories to add a touch of historical interest.

Dust the exterior regularly with a clean microfibre cloth without using harsh chemical metal cleaners, keep the clock away from damp environments, and ensure the mechanical movement is oiled and serviced by a qualified horologist every few years.
