A Victorian diamond brooch is a decorative jewellery piece set with diamonds, manufactured during the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901, often featuring romantic, floral, or naturalistic motifs.

These pieces were typically crafted using silver-topped gold, where silver was utilised on the face to reflect the light and enhance the whiteness of the diamonds, backed by gold or base metals for structural strength.

Authentic pieces often display hand-cut stones such as old cut or rose cut diamonds, hand-forged metalwork, closed-back settings in earlier pieces, and traditional pin and C-clasp fastenings without modern safety catches.

An antique brooch can be pinned to a blazer lapel, fastened at the neckline of a blouse, used to secure a scarf, or worn as a pendant using a discreet conversion bale.

Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners which can damage historical settings, and store separately in a lined box.
