It was listed by Clockwise. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Clockwise has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The traditionally constructed oak case has a deep shine to it and the twelve inch dial has been sympathetically restored. The dial is signed 'Maple & Co Ltd' who were London's premier furniture supplier to royalty and aristocracy in the UK and across Europe; this clock was a bespoke purchase from Camerer & Cuss who in turn were prestigious suppliers and makers of fine clocks from their London premises. The change of spelling from Kamerer and Kuss due to wartime sensitivities identiifies this clock as post 1914 and their company sticker is present to the inside door and case rear. The case has an inspection door to one side of the case, also a lower door and the original glazed bezel is finished in a gloss black.

The movement has just been restored and as such benefits from my three year guarantee. The clock comes complete with a key and its original pendulum.
