A rolling ball clock is a mechanical timepiece that uses the movement of steel spheres along a track as a regulating escapement instead of a traditional pendulum or balance wheel.

These clocks typically feature polished brass frameworks, steel or chrome-plated spheres, wooden bases, and intricate open-work metal components.

Authentic pieces generally feature maker markings or signatures on the dial face or movement plates, alongside precision British craftsmanship characteristic of Cheltenham clockmakers.

Positioning the clock on a flat, stable surface such as a desk or shelf allows the kinetic movement of the spheres to serve as a focal point in a study or living room.

Regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth and professional servicing every few years ensures the brass surfaces remain untarnished and the internal gear train functions correctly.
