This mid-century wall clock originates from 1950 and belongs to the industrial loft style. Constructed from plastic, chrome, and glass, the circular piece displays a cream colour palette complemented by a shiny chrome bezel around the glass face. The off-white plastic casing houses a cream dial marked with black Arabic numerals, black hands, and the Air Ministry crown logo positioned above the letters AM, alongside markings indicating manufacture in England at the bottom. The exterior shows a round black adjustment knob protruding from the bottom casing, plus minor surface dust and wear on the dial consistent with age. Measuring 14 cm high, 17 cm wide, and 6.5 cm deep, this compact timekeeper fits well in a narrow wall space within a modern home office, study, or hallway. Practical and functional, the utilitarian clock integrates smoothly into retro or industrial-themed interiors as a decorative accent or working timepiece. The circular configuration and neutral cream tones allow easy mounting on any vertical surface in a kitchen, living area, or bedroom. Maintenance involves regular winding of the 8-day mechanical movement to ensure accurate timekeeping for daily use. Collectors and enthusiasts of military history or mid-century design will find the piece a fitting addition to an existing display of vintage horology or RAF memorabilia. The compact dimensions ensure it occupies minimal wall area while retaining strong visual presence in smaller rooms.

An RAF issue wall clock is a timepiece manufactured under official contract for the Royal Air Force, designed for precise timekeeping in military bases, mess halls, and airfield offices.

Mid-century military wall clocks were constructed using durable materials such as moulded bakelite or hard plastic, glass dial covers, chrome or painted metal bezels, and mechanical brass movements.

Authentic pieces feature stamped or printed military markings on the dial or movement, including the Air Ministry crown symbol and the letters AM, alongside official manufacturer details and issue dates.

A military wall clock integrates well into industrial, mid-century, or minimalist interior schemes, serving as a functional wall focal point above a desk, console, or in a hallway.

Keep the casing clean with a soft dry cloth, avoid harsh chemical solvents on vintage plastics, keep away from direct heat sources, and have the mechanical movement serviced periodically by a qualified horologist.
