Description

 For sale, a fine mounted WW2 RAF issued Smith 8day MK11 D cockpit clock ref no 6A/1150, dated 1941. This example has an issue no of 9043/41 stamped on the dial along with 4362 RC45 at the bottom edge of the dial. This example has been mounted on a custom-made stainless-steel stand, for desk top use. You probably couldn’t find a better example, its in full working order keeping time. All functions work including the red centre setting hands. A MK11D clock is shown on page 202 of British Military Timepieces by Konrad Knirim, it is mounted on a cockpit panel of a Mark1A or MK1B Hawker Typhoon. Other examples of the MK11D Smith 8day can also be found on pages 202, 203 and 205 in the same volume. A chance to own a piece of WW2 RAF issued aviation history. Size inclusive of stand 13.5cm long and approx 9cm diameter. Price £435.00 SOLD PA
