It was listed by Oliver Sargent Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Oliver Sargent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
Signed to the rear case section with the Crown of Victoria & VR and No 53 being the same as the dial. The fully signed gilt movement retains the same matching numbers to what looks to be a nickel case showing some general wear. The dial has one short craze and hairline at 3 and a shallow edge chip at 1 both as shown in the pics. The watch is in full working order holding time. For the serious collector and probably as a Royal Mail train issued watch, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
