Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This George III bow front corner cupboard represents a traditional Georgian style storage piece designed for placement in a room corner. The construction utilises mahogany timber with a figured red-brown flame mahogany veneer, complemented by a moulded top cornice and contrasting brass H-hinges on the twin curved doors. Key visual details include keyhole escutcheons on the front doors and visible signs of age including surface wear and un-restored condition requiring polishing. Practical measurements are 104 cm high by 72 cm wide and 49 cm deep. Pieces of this form suit placement in a living room, dining room, or hallway to store tableware, glassware, or everyday household items while making efficient use of corner space.

FAQs

A Georgian bowfront corner cupboard is an 18th-century storage cabinet featuring a curved convex front and a right-angled back designed to fit into room corners.

These cabinets were primarily constructed using dense mahogany, oak, or walnut woods, often fitted with brass H-hinges and steel lock mechanisms.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut joinery, original brass hardware with hand-cut screws, flame mahogany veneers, and period-correct oak or pine secondary drawer linings.

Mount or place the unit in an unutilised corner to serve as a functional bar cabinet or storage for glassware, creating a focal point in dining rooms or hallways.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a soft cloth and applying a beeswax polish annually, while keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and damp walls.
