This Edwardian Jacobean Revival bedside cabinet originates from circa 1910, constructed from solid oak with a warm brown colour and visible grain. The design incorporates a single fielded panel door with a brass teardrop pull and hinges on the right, supported on barley twist legs joined by a box stretcher above bun feet. Visible details include a moulded top edge and minor marks across the timber surfaces reflecting its age and past use. Measuring 77 cm high, 41 cm wide, and 37 cm deep, the compact footprint suits practical placement as a lamp table or side table in an empty corner or hallway.

Jacobean Revival furniture emerged during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, reinterpreting 17th-century English styles. Key characteristics include dark oak construction, geometric wood panelling, architectural moulding, and ornate turned woodwork such as barley twist legs.

These cabinets were primarily constructed from solid oak, often featuring quartersawn oak panels to showcase wood grain patterns. Joinery techniques included traditional mortise and tenon joints, complemented by brass ironmongery such as drop handles and keyplates.

Authentic pieces exhibit construction details such as hand-finished wood surfaces, solid oak drawer and frame linings, period-appropriate brass hardware, and hand-turned spiral or barley twist legs with square block joints.

A Jacobean Revival cabinet functions as a versatile accent piece in modern rooms. It can serve as a nightstand beside a bed, an occasional side table beside living room seating, or a decorative storage cabinet in an entryway.

Maintain antique oak furniture by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying beeswax polish once or twice a year to nourish the wood grain. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent timber movement or cracking.
