This pair of Art Nouveau stem vases dates from 1900 and originates from Bohemia. Produced by Wilhelm Kralik, the vessels consist of hand-blown glass with a cranberry base beneath a magenta and golden iridescent finish. Each piece has an organic form featuring a bulbous, lobed body, a draped pattern, and a flared rim. The iridescent sheen creates shifting colour highlights across the ribbed surfaces. Each vase measures 13.5 cm high, 10 cm wide, and 10 cm deep. Suitable for domestic display, these decorative items provide a practical use as flower holders or mantel ornaments. They sit well upon a sideboard top or display cabinet within a living room, dining room, or hallway setting. The matching pair brings period character and colourful glasswork to interior spaces without requiring extensive surface area.

Art Nouveau glassware is defined by fluid, organic forms inspired by nature, featuring sinuous curves, plant-like structures, and experimental surface effects such as iridescence.

The metallic sheen is produced by exposing the hot glass to metallic salt vapours, such as stannous chloride or titanium chloride, during the blowing process.

Kralik glass often features organic lobed shapes, continuous blown details, and iridescent surface treatments, typically remaining unsigned or bearing acid-stamped country of origin marks.

Displaying stem vases near natural light sources highlights their lustre and colour, while pairing them with minimal neutral backdrop elements emphasizes their intricate forms.

Clean iridescent glass using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners that could strip the delicate surface metallic lustre.
