This Victorian silver-plated decanter stand holds three cut-to-clear glass bottles in pink, blue, and deep red with faceted stoppers. The stand includes a central rod terminating in an ornate scroll handle and rests upon three cast triangular feet beneath a pierced lattice frame. Each bottle features etched floral vine decoration displaying grape leaves and vines against coloured glass. The silver-plated frame contains three partitioned sections secured by a stamped maker's mark at the top. The complete arrangement measures approximately 48 cm in height. Placement suits a sideboard top within a gentleman's library or formal dining space to store and display vintage glassware. Maintenance involves standard polishing of the silver-plated surfaces and gentle hand washing for the glass components to preserve the decorative etching and finish.

Decanter stands gained popularity during the nineteenth century in Britain as elegant table service items for hosting and dining. They were designed to hold spirits or fortified wines securely, combining silver-plated metalwork with fine decorative glassware.

These sets typically feature electroplated nickel silver or Britannia metal frames fitted with hand-blown cut-to-clear coloured glass bottles. The glass was layered with coloured casing before being ground away to reveal intricate clear glass patterns underneath.

Authentic late Victorian pieces often bear makers marks or EPNS stamps on the base or handle, along with signs of hand-fitted stoppers. The cut-to-clear glass decanters should feature sharp wheel-cut details rather than modern moulded glass seams.

Position the set prominently on a dark wood sideboard, a marble-topped console table, or a vintage bar cart to showcase the contrasting colours. Pair it with crystal glassware or brass serving trays to highlight its classic metalwork.

Clean the silver frame using a soft cloth and non-abrasive silver polish to avoid removing the electroplated layer. Wash glass decanters by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, ensuring stoppers are dried thoroughly before reinserting.
