Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These Victorian Ridgeways campana vases are made from porcelain with a cream glaze, enriched with gold gilding and enamel details. Each vase exhibits a campana shape with twin scrolled handles, a relief leaf moulding around the body, and a cylindrical pedestal plinth base, complete with abstract scroll decoration. The porcelain shows an intact glossy finish with hand-painted highlights in gold and soft neutral tones across the urn and base sections. Measuring 16.5 cm high and 8.9 cm wide, this matching pair sits comfortably on a mantelpiece, sideboard or display cabinet in a traditional interior. The classic Neoclassical style makes these pieces ideal for formal reception rooms, studies or entrance halls, adding a subtle touch of nineteenth-century English craftsmanship to a decorative shelf arrangement.

FAQs

A campana vase is a bell-shaped decorative vessel modelled after ancient Greco-Roman kraters, characterised by an inverted bell form, flaring rim, and dual side handles.

Victorian campana urns were predominantly crafted from fine porcelain or earthenware, often decorated with hand-applied gilding, overglaze enamel painting, and relief moulded ornamentation.

Authentic 19th-century pieces frequently display makers marks stamped or printed on the base, evidence of hand gilding, fine age-related crazing, and period manufacturing seams.

A pair of campana vases is traditionally arranged symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table to establish visual balance within classical or contemporary spaces.

Gilded porcelain should be dusted using a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, keeping clear of liquid cleansers and abrasive solvents that degrade surface gilding.
