FAQs

Marble-topped bedside cabinets gained popularity in European residential interiors during the nineteenth century, prized for their hygienic, heat-resistant surfaces and practical enclosed storage for washing apparatus and night items.

Traditional construction typically involves solid hardwood timbers such as oak or walnut, featuring mortise and tenon joinery, hand-carved details, fitted marble slabs, and dovetailed drawers with brass hardware.

Authentic period pieces display period-appropriate tool marks, hand-cut dovetailing, oxidisation on metal fittings, and natural timber shrinkage rather than machine-standardised uniformity.

Pairing antique bleached wood with minimalist modern lighting and neutral textiles creates a balanced scheme that highlights the natural grain and stone textures.

Protect marble surfaces from acidic substances using coasters, clean timber with a dry or lightly dampened cloth, and avoid direct exposure to extreme heat or sunlight.
