A rummer is a large, sturdy glass goblet popular in Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries, traditionally used for serving ale, wine, punch, or rum.

These pieces are typically made from lead crystal or flint glass, shaped using blown-moulding techniques and finished with hand-engraved or wheel-cut decorative motifs.

Authentic pieces often exhibit characteristic pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities in the glass from handcrafting, and period-specific engraving styles such as hop and barley motifs.

Antique glassware adds historic texture and refined elegance when displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on bar carts, or used thoughtfully for formal dining settings.

Antique glass should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive sponges to protect the surface.
