An opaque twist wine glass is a type of drinking vessel produced during the 18th century, characterised by white or coloured enamel threads encased within the stem.

These glasses were traditionally handmade using lead glass, with fine threads of opaque white or coloured enamel manipulated into spiral patterns inside the drawn stem.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit pontil marks on the underside of the foot, surface wear consistent with age, minor air bubbles within the metal, and characteristic hand-formed irregularities.

Displaying antique stemware inside a glazed cabinet or on a dedicated shelf introduces historical texture and refined craftsmanship to contemporary spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing, abrasive materials, and modern dishwashers.
