The Georgian revival style, popular from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, reinterprets the classical proportions, symmetry, and ornate detailing characteristic of the original Georgian period spanning 1714 to 1830.

These items are typically crafted from heavy lead crystal featuring hand-cut geometric or floral motifs, paired with sterling silver spoons that often include a gilt wash, known as vermeil, inside the bowl.

Authenticity is determined by examining the clarity and weight of the lead crystal, the sharpness of the hand-cut facets, and checking the silver spoons for British hallmarks indicating the maker, assay office, and year of assay.

They can be used functionally as part of a formal tablescape or displayed on a sideboard or within a glass-fronted cabinet to reflect natural light and add traditional texture to a modern interior.

Wash crystal in warm, soapy water using a soft cloth and allow it to air dry on a towel to avoid chipping the rim, while polishing the silver spoons gently with a specialised microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh abrasive pastes.
