Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Wall-mounted cupboards became prevalent in European domestic interiors from the 17th century onwards, designed to securely store and display valued household possessions, medicine, or spices while conserving floor space.

These cabinets were typically constructed from dense hardwoods such as walnut, oak, or mahogany, featuring hand-cut joinery, pegged framing, and delicate brass or iron hardware alongside blown or plate glass panels.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the timber for age-related patina, hand-planed surfaces, traditional joinery methods like dovetailing, and subtle irregularities in the glass panes indicative of older manufacturing techniques.

This piece can be mounted on a neutral wall in a kitchen or living space to display curated ceramics or glassware, providing functional storage while introducing rich timber tones to modern minimalist schemes.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels away from direct sunlight and central heating sources, periodically cleaning the wood with microfibre cloths and traditional beeswax to nourish the finish.
