Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Revival oak furniture typically draws inspiration from 17th-century Jacobean and Elizabethan designs, featuring heavy timber construction and elaborate hand-carved motifs such as foliage and strapwork.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid European or English oak, often utilising traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon, hand-cut dovetails for drawers, and pegged joints.

Authenticity is determined by examining tool marks, timber shrinkage patterns, natural oxidisation, hand-forged iron hardware, and construction methods consistent with historical manufacturing practices.

Pairing dark, ornate wooden pieces with minimalist contemporary surroundings, neutral walls, and clean lines creates a balanced, eclectic aesthetic that highlights the craftsmanship of the item.

Maintain antique oak by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and occasionally apply traditional beeswax to nourish and protect the wood finish.
