Art Nouveau glassware is characterised by organic, flowing lines inspired by natural forms, often featuring iridescent finishes and asymmetrical shapes that mimic plants and flowers.

Artisans achieved iridescence by spraying hot glass with metallic salts, such as tin or chloride, creating a shimmering, rainbow-like sheen on the surface.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base where they were snapped from the blowpipe, subtle manufacturing imperfections, and wear consistent with age.

Place the piece on a mantelpiece or a side table where natural light can catch the iridescent surface, allowing it to function as a focal point or a delicate holder for single stems.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and mild soap with a soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, or sudden temperature changes to protect the fragile metallic surface.
