This Art Deco trinket box dates from 1920 in the style associated with René Lalique. Made from pressed glass with an opalescent white colour, the circular profile cover displays a relief moulding of two figures amidst swirling bubbles and water details against a soft tan background. A moulded R Lalique mark and the inscription D'orsay appear around the edge of the bottom of the lid. The original card base and inner card base hold the piece together, displaying expected signs of age and wear to the paper materials. The object measures 3 cm high and 8.5 cm wide. Display this lidded box on a bedside table in a bedroom or dressing room to store small personal items such as rings, pins, or trinkets.

Designed during the early twentieth century, these pieces bridged Art Nouveau motifs and Art Deco geometry, commissioned by luxury cosmetic brands such as DOrsay for vanity sets.

Opalescent glass was produced by adding chemical agents such as fluorine or bone ash to the molten glass batch, which crystallised upon controlled cooling to create a translucent light-diffusing effect.

Authentic period pieces feature cast or moulded maker signatures, precise high-relief detail, hand-finished surfaces, and distinct light refraction characteristic of original glass formulations.

Position the object on a bedside table, dressing table, or vanity surface near natural light to display the optical translucency and iridescent tone of the glass.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and mild soap applied with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals, scrubbers, or sudden thermal changes.
