Arundel Clocks has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The clock comes with a key.
This clock was made in France around the 1860s and is a very heavy clock with a thick plated movement large heavy case with a matching thick handle and rare Gothic style Roman numerals I think you will agree it stands out in a crowd as a simply beautiful carriage clock.

The Case
The case is in solid brass and stands 19cm high x 9.5cm wide with a depth of 8.5cm it is in perfect condition with mint bevelled sides/front/back door and top viewing glass.

The Dial
The dial is in original condition in white with Roman numerals and retains its original black ornate hands again in original condition and the dial is painted with the rare black/red numerals in the Gothic style dial.

The Movement
The movement is an eight-day time only, the movement has been fully serviced and oiled so keeping a great time over the eight days running via the jewelled and serviced platform escapement.

Overall a beautiful quality carriage clock by a quality French maker that looks beautiful on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days, a real quality carriage clock.
