I have for sale a 1950s striking verge lantern clock made by a retired clock repair/maker in the old style with its wall bracket, the clock is identical to a sixteenth seventeenth century made clock really beautifully made and working and striking 100% correctly.
Case
The Dial
The dial is in mint condition solid silvered brass with engraved black Roman numerals housed within with a scrolled mask, the clock also retains its original black ornate hand.
The Movement
The movement is a 30-hour verge time and strike which strikes on the top bell of the hours, the movement has been serviced and oiled so keeping good time over the 30 hours via the weight-driven verge escapment.
Overall a very beautiful heavy large quality lantern clock by a quality maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features.
