These are now hard to find, a truly original and rare 12inch Wall clock-timepiece by William Attwell of Romford who is recorded working from his South Street, Romford address in 1840. He was listed as a clock and watchmaker / jeweller and this fine clock may have hung in that very premises. The clock has just undergone a full restoration of the movement. It is a very high quality and substantial ''Fusee'' with heavy brass Bob lead filled pendulum and 12inch convex dial with fine blued steel hands and in our opinion the best style of hands on a wall clock. The mahogany case is in fine condition with locking lower door and ast brass bezel held with a sprung latch. The clock is a great example of Essex clockmaking near to London.
