Regency Bracket Clock Having A Mahogany Arched Top Case. Circa 1810.

A superior than usual example in both condition and quality of a classic style Regency period table clock.
 
The eight day duration, double fusee, 5 pillar movement with Anchor recoil escapement and rack striking the hours on a fine-toned rear mounted bell. The movement plates are shouldered and the rear plate has neat border engraving of semi-circles consisting of wriggle work. The back cock, fixing brackets and pendulum transit holdfast are also engraved. The pendulum rod has a regulation nut cradle and the rod is graduated. The movement also has pull repeat striking.
 
Behind a 7'' diameter, bowed painted dial that retains its base paint. It is rimmed with a brass sleeve and has a black minute track and Roman hour numerals. The gilded brass hands are matching ''spade'' style. The dial is covered with a cast brass locking bezel of low profile with a snapped-in bowed glass.
