Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Traditional Korean cabinets, such as Jang and Bandaji, developed during the Joseon Dynasty to provide functional storage while complementing traditional floor-seated living spaces. These pieces were crafted by skilled joiners to highlight natural wood grain complemented by symbolic metal fittings.

Korean cabinets are typically constructed using native woods such as elm, zelkova, pine, or paulownia. The frame and panels are joined using traditional mortise and tenon wood joinery, finished with decorative yellow or cast brass fittings.

Authentic pieces feature hand-forged or hand-cut brass plates, traditional unnailed joinery techniques, and natural timber wear. Inspecting the interior surfaces often reveals tool marks and aged wood patination consistent with historic craft methods.

A Korean brass-mounted cabinet functions as a focal point in contemporary spaces, pairing well alongside minimalist furnishings, neutral colour schemes, and structured organic textures to create visual balance.

Dust the wood gently using a soft dry microfibre cloth and maintain a stable humidity environment to prevent wood movement. Avoid harsh metal polishes on the brass fittings to preserve the historical patina and protective oxidation.
