Grant, Fleet Street. Enamel Dial Bracket Clock.

This is a handsome mahogany, fusee mantel clock by an eminent maker.
 
The 8 day duration, 5 pillar, double fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement, rack and starwheel sriking of the hours on a tuned, rear-mounted bell. Also having rear operated strike/silent feature, pull cord strike repeating, shouldered plates, knopped pillars and a pendulum rod cradle with engraved graduated scale.
 
Behind a 6'' diameter, bowed, white enamel dial with an outer divided minute circle and black Roman hour numerals also, the maker''s name ''GRANT Fleet Street LONDON'' and ''No.609'' applied in an arc to the upper dial portion. The matching blued steel hands are of spade design and the locking cast brass bezel has ornamentation and a snapped-in bowed glass.
 
Contained in a stylish figured mahogany case with a flat top that has a moulded edge, canted front corners, geometric ebony stringing, a short plinth with moulded top edge and sitting upon four short block feet. The sides have upper panels...
