A Regency Period, English Chamfer Top Bracket Clock In An Ebonised Case. Circa 1820.

An attractive and being ebonised, rarer version of a classic Regency period table clock.
 
The 8 day duration, 5 pillar, double gut fusee movement with Anchor recoil escapement and striking the hours on a top-mounted bell. Also having a strike/silent selector, pull repeating to the striking train, pendulum transit locking, shouldered plates and micrometer pendulum regulation.
 
Behind an 8'' diameter white painted, bowed iron dial with an outer divided minute track and inner Roman hour numerals. The centre is signed ''MORTIMER, STRAND''. Also having matching blued steel spade design hands and set within a protective brass flange. The cast brass bezel is locking and has a bowed glass.
 
Contained in a Regency, ebonised chamfer-top case. The stepped and chamfered top has a large cast brass pineapple finial and the case front has quartered and recessed panels framed with brass quadrant. The front canted edges are inlaid with brass strip. The sides have acanthus and ring carrying handle...
