This is a beautiful French Four Glass clock, a temperature compensated pendulum of the type invented by British clockmaker John Ellicott in 1752, a visible jewelled Brocot half deadbeat escapement. The case bezel and pendulum are beautifully gilded with a soft frosted finish.The Movement is Stamped with the S.
