Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
It strikes on the quarters and the hour playing the westminster tune. Very importantly, it strikes on rods and gives a superbly crisp, clear, resonating tone.
The clock has a strike/silent facility and quite unusually this can be used to silence either the quarters or the hour, or both. The 8", silvered dial has black Arabic numerals with contrasting black hands and is in lovely clean condition.
The oak case is beautifully polished and has bevelled glass panels to the lower half of the fully opening door.
A classic example of these ever popular wall clocks.
