An early and very good example of a fusee dial clock.The eight day duration, 4 knopped pillar, gut fusee movement with its original verge escapement and attached pendulum. Also having tapered plates, back cock apron and a pendulum hook to the backplate.Behind a 12'' diameter, silvered and engraved, brass dial with outer, Arabic 5''s, minute track with triangular hour markings, short Roman hour numerals and an inner circle. The centre bearing the maker''s name of ''WILD'' above centre in shaded capitals and ''LONDON'' in a lower curved cartouche, that is surrounded with floral decoration. The engraving is superbly executed and the blued steel pierced hands are absolutely traditional.Contained in a fine mahogany ''Salt-box'' case. The dial surround is recessed to flush-fit the dial and the edge is concave moulded in ''Sheraton'' style. The matching wooden bezel is also mahogany with a conforming edge and is glazed and hinged.
