Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
It has the "London" features of a long trunk door with moulded edge and brass inlaid columns to the hood..

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very attractive brass dial with silvered chapter ring and gilt spandrels.
The case is in good condition. The movement is in good working order and looks to have been serviced in the not too distant past and it is keeping good time. There is some packing under the seat board indicating that the case and movement may be associated, however they are of the same period and fit together well and this is reflected in the price.
The maximum dimensions are:
224cm (88") high
50cm (19.5") wide
25cm (10") deep
