Fusee Regency Wall Drop-dial Eight Day Clock

Description

This is a lovely example of an octagonal drop-dial Georgian wall clock with decorative brass inlay to the mahogany case and a stunning and unusual decorative pendulum. The eight-day duration, single fusee timepiece movement has just benefited from a full overhaul and the convex twelve-inch round painted dial with black Arabic numerals is in a lovely and deliberately unrestored condition. The clock retains its original blued steel moon hands along with its cast bezel with convex glass and the dial is signed 'M. Marlow, Bath'. The lower drop of the case is curved with a shaped glazed panel to allow viewing of the decorative cast-brass pendulum and this panel is flanked with fluted ears to the sides. There is a side panel door to observe the movement and the lower case door has its working lock and key. This is a lovely, rare, genuine clock and is covered by my two year movement guarantee.

All antique clocks require delicate handling and specific setting up so it is far better for a dealer to meet a client and talk them through the process, or set the clock up for them, rather than leave the client struggling at the other end on their own but this redoubtable clock will be straightforward to set up for the client.
