Pendule D' Officier - Carriage Type Clock

19th century
Description

A fine gilt Pendule d'Officier Clock with a superb 8 day duration movement on a jeweled lever silvered escapement. The beautifully 'engine turned' dial showing black Arabic numerals with minutes to the outer edge. Early style true Breguet hands. Strike on the hour and once for the half hours and interestingly on two gongs. The case having floral and ribbon gilt mounts and musical instruments and in the classic 'Pagoda' shape. A classical shape drop handle to carry. Standing on four 'Lions paw' feet. Circa 1890. If you can visit to see this clock we think you'll agree, it's quite impressive with it's size and weight.
