This is a very original and pretty, striking wall clock in a lovely mahogany case.
The massive double chain fusee, five pillar movement with Anchor Recoil escapement and rack striking the hours on a top mounted, first quality, tuned, ''bell-metal'' bell.
Fixed to a 11 1/2'' flat painted iron dial with minute track, Roman numerals and the retailer''s name of ''H.G. HALL WIMBORNE''. Also having blackened steel ''spade'' hands and behind a locking, cast brass bezel with integral silvered sight ring and flat ground-in glass.
The pale mahogany case is of good colour and pleasing patination with a rounded top and bottom, the latter having a locking, cockbeaded door. The two side doors with metal sound frets unusually also have locks, this feature is extremely rare.
This is a very attractive clock and no larger than the usual size for a timepiece only. Henry George Hall is listed in the Wimborne Directory as being a Watchmaker and working jeweller from 1890 u
...ntil 1895 and had premises on the High Street in Wimborne, Dorset.
This clock is in good condition throughout and in working order. The side lock key is missing and the bottom lock is missing. The price is for the clock in present condition and any further restoration work required will be subject to a further cost and waiting time.
