Unusual stepped top to the door with oval central panel and crossbanded outer veneers. Matching figured veneered panel to the base with crossbanded fruitwood strung outer edge. Sat on the original splayed foot plinth. Original painted dial with Roman numerals, date aperture and seconds dial. Superbly painted colourful spandrels and sea scene to the arch with moon phases to the centre. Bears the makers name R Northern, Hull. 8 day duration with anchor escapement and bell striking on the hour. Fully overhauled movement, superb condition with a deep shine and original patina. Measures 89" high x 19" wide x 9" deep.
