Classic Verge Bracket Clock By Barraud.

This fine clock was made by Paul Phillip Barraud 1752 - 1820 the son of Frederick Gabriel Barraud (1727-1795). The Barrauds were an important part of the British Clock and Watch making industry for nearly 200 years and made many important clocks and chronometers. There have also been a number of books produced, two of them will be supplied with this clock (Paul Phillip Barraud by Cedrick Jagger). This clock is an original Verge, twin fusee ''Break'' arch, ‘Bracket clock’ with pull repeat and hourly strike on a bell. The dial is a full painted enamel dial showing Roman numerals, Strike – Silent to the arch and the makers name. The dial is the original. The signed and engraved backplate of the movement shows the pendulum rod and verge ‘bob’. The case is constructed in Oak with Mahogany veneer and solid Mahogany mouldings, standing on four bracket feet with a handle to the top and fish scale brass fretwork to both sides.
